If the three police departments can put aside their differences, if any, and cooperate, why can't the K-12 school districts in these communities do likewise?

At the community meeting on robberies, the Atherton police chief stated he has a "no vehicle pursue" policy for no-violent crimes, i.e., property/robbery crimes.

(As you read the rest of this, keep in mind that the only crimes in Atherton, I believe to a 100% or essentially 100% extent, are property/robbery crimes).

He said the reason for this is he wouldn't want a pedestrian to be injured in the high speed chase.

When asked if he would allow this in the middle of the night, he said no. By the way, Menlo Park allows pursuit based on assessment of the danger to pedestrians at the time.

When asked if he would allow pursuit BY FOOT, by the officers, he said no, that could endanger the officer's life.

They retire at 50 with 90% of their salary for life, with great health care. We just built a $50M town center for them to be in, I guess instead of patrolling. The average salaries are close to $200K, more with overtime.

And now they need a wellness coordinator.
