One confirmed dead from 6-alarm fire

One victim died in a six-alarm apartment building fire in Redwood City Sunday that also injured 21 people, fire officials confirmed Monday.

THANK YOU FIREFIGHTERS -- for rescuing 100 people in a terrifying fire that broke out in the middle of the night.

This was a high-density building on a very busy street, and ladders were required for most rescues....the firefighters got elderly and disabled people out safely. One fatality, but it could have been much worse for the residents AND for the firefighters!

The firefighters earned their salary.

The Salvation Army on Veterans is taking donations for the fire victims.

PLEASE DO NOT JUST DROP OFF GOODS FOR VICTIMS AT THE SALVATION ARMY. Members of the public seeking to donate goods should contact Janet Borgens at (650)366-2742 to make arrangements.

Please, if you donate money, know the organization you are donating to. Lot of scammers out there when major house fire occure!
