Sounds like a wonderful man, and everyone had a delightful time! Also means it's time for the haters and mudslingers to pop up from under their bridge, unfortunately.

Thanks, Mr. Vice President, for visiting our town! Thanks, Almanac for sharing the news and photos.

Its a funny thing. Those who are lionizing our inept vice president are the very same ones who excoriated Dick Cheney.

[portion deleted.]

Did Biden tell President Bush Sr. in 1992 wise not to invade Baghdad and "get bogged down in the problems of trying to take over and govern Iraq."? Nope, that was Dicky Cheney.

Sounds like a smart guy, that Dick Cheney!

Did Biden tell us while running as VP in 2000: America must not act as "an imperialist power, willy-nilly moving into capitals in that part of the world, taking down governments." No-sirree, once again, it was "Lil' Dick" Cheney.

Sounds like a smart guy, that Dick Cheney! Score another one! Well a clock is right twice a day!

Let's go beyond hypocrisy, shall we, and venture into Cheney's traitorous lies?

Did Biden, in 12/01, claim 9/11 hijacker Mohammed Atta met with Iraqi spy in Prague, a claim he'll repeat long after CIA and Czechs disavow it as an utter falsehood? Nah, big fella, that was the Dick Cheney.

Did Biden say unequivocally that Saddam "is actively pursuing nuclear weapons at this time."? Nyet, that was the Dick, Cheney.

Did Biden lie to Americans by saying "There is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction. There is no doubt he is amassing them to use against our friends…and against us"? Nay, that was the Cheney Dick.

Did Biden tell America this lie: "We do know, with absolute certainty, that he is using his procurement system to acquire the equipment he needs in order to enrich uranium to build a nuclear weapon." Negatory! That oratory was from the Dickmeister Cheney.

Did Biden tell this big whopper to fellow chickenhawk Rush Limpbaugh: "What's happening, of course, is we're getting additional information that, in fact, Hussein is reconstituting his biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons programs"? no, no, no, that big whopper was from little whopper Cheney.

Did Biden tell these lies on the same show: "We believe he has, in fact, reconstituted nuclear weapons." (Cheney later claims he misspoke.) Adds, "I really do believe that we will be greeted as liberators." non! that was frome the supreme Dick, Cheney.

Did Biden ever traitorously out an undercover CIA agent by using Judith Miller at the NYTimes? Na, na, na, it was the Dick Cheney's chief of staff, scooter Libby. Order by the Dick, of course. Web Link

Joew Biden is not inept, but even if so, Americans prefer Joe over that Dick, Cheney. Ask the 5,000 fine servicemen who lost their lives in Iraq.

Ask them what they think of this: It is "wise not to invade Baghdad and "get bogged down in the problems of trying to take over and govern Iraq."

Ask them if they were then greeted as liberators.

Five thousand brave Americans murdered for Dick Cheney's lies.

Richard Bruce Cheney

What a complete ....

"There is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction."

Gimmee Joe Biden any day. Even in district 4, HL.

For Cheney to know in his heart that it was wise NOT to invade Baghdad and "get bogged down in the problems of trying to take over and govern Iraq," along with knowing America must not act as "an imperialist power, willy-nilly moving into capitals in that part of the world, taking down governments"

then -

- lying America into war for naked political (and profit driven - Halliburtin, oil, etc..) reasons -

- is the very height of hypocrisy.

Why on earth would poster @Hypocrisy ever bring up Cheney and Biden in the same breath? Must be some powerful Cheney koolaid.

Facts show (as highlighted by the poster above, and many many more) that Dick Cheney has not been 'excoriated' anywhere near the level that he deserves. Even normal republicans know that to be true, though the extremist fringe can't see past their blinders.

Proof? Anyone remember the speeches at the 2012 GOP convention by Bush or Cheney? In 2008, they conveniently hid Bush and Cheney in the early Monday speech slots, and immediately cut them when they shortened the convention due to Gustav. Laura was able to make it, but they hid bush on video. They didn't invite Cheney to speak later. They had more 'important' speakers that they couldn't allow some time to Cheney, the sitting Vice President: Tim Pawlenty, Tom Ridge, Sam Brownback, Bill Frist, Mel Martinez, John Ensign, Tom Cole, Mary Fallin, Aaron Schock, and Rosario Marin.

All more important than the sitting Vice President. Yes, even normal republicans know that Cheney is evil, damaged goods, and politically toxic. Aaron Schock???

Cheney belongs in jail, beside his chief of staff Lewis scooter Libby.

Both Biden and Cheney are happy about the Supreme Court's ruling today - defeating DOMA and turning back Prop 8 for lack of standing. Understanding, Cheney's support of gay rights is more selfish than any core belief in equality or human dignity.

More of that broken clock referred to above.

So glad he's gone. Parenthetically, John Boehner spent the best 3 million dollars of taxpayer money he ever spent in hiring Clement. Thanks John. Without your inept decision, the court would have turned the DOMA case away (stated thus in Kennedy's majority opinion.)

What do you think of them apples, Dist 4?

None of the issues claimed by the above anonymous poster ( perhaps an Atherton police officer?) were in last November's ballot. Those of us with the right to vote voted for individuals to serve as OUR council members.

Facts are important - as are identities.
