Really - IT is not safe to put mail in a US Gov't Box?
- Have the USPS & police heard of security cameras?
- The USPO in downtown Meno Park changed if "insert" slots - is that NOT enough?
- Let's catch & punish the criminals & not punish the innocent!

Come on Cybervoter, yes, let's catch the criminals, but in the meantime let's take steps to make it more difficult for them to steal from us. You lock your front door right? You lock your car when you leave it parked outside, right? By your logic we shouldn't have to because it's "punishing the innocent".

By your "logic" it is "OK" if a "Porch Pirate" steals your FedEx delivery!

I haven't used a drop box in years, I either hand off to my letter carrier, use the Post Office or have outgoing mail marked for letter carrier. I was never worried about stealing (now I know better), but these days I'm concerned about someone slipping something into the drop box that may damage mail.

Apples and oranges. The mail boxes are locked. No, it's not ok for porch pirates to be stealing packages off porches, but there are options to having things delivered that are more secure than the front porch. I do it regularly.
