Guest opinion: More can be done to protect bicyclists from fatal collisions

On April 10, bicyclist Lester Legarda was fatally struck by a driver on a Cañada Road, a rural road popular among walkers, hikers, equestrians, and bicyclists. Lowering the speed would help prevent future tragedies.

What a tragedy and a terrible lose to his family and community. I’ve biked that road hundreds of times preparing for more vigorous rides before the advent of so many distractions in our cars
