OK, 1) so a man, very likely not a member of the Stanford community, is parked at 11pm on campus, "making deliveries" of packages at that hour(?). The owner of the vehicle has a an outstanding warrant and driving privileges revoked. As far as the police know, the driver is the owner. 3) The driver of the car (stolen? maybe, maybe not, they will never know) does not comply with the police. 4) Police want to go home safe, perhaps taser is the right weapon to present for self defense in this case. Anyway, seems as if the police have their hands tied. And the Stanford community wants absolute safety. No win for the police, IMO.

And would Ms. Stovall be as outraged if the driver of the car who had the gun drawn on him had instead drawn a weapon himself and shot the officer? I suggest she go on a ride along with the police and discover what the job actually entails instead of simply believing everything her progressive little mind thinks.
