'It was crazy.' Emerald Hills residents watched flames erupt just a few hundred feet away

Locals packed up kids, dogs and even horses when the Edgewood Fire prompted evacuation orders on Tuesday. Emerald Hills returned to a neighborhood dusted with a bright pink coating of fire retardant.
