Not so fast on availability of parking plazas

Original post made by Use of Parking Plazas for Housin, Menlo Park: Linfield Oaks, on Jan 10, 2022

While the Parking Plazas downtown are operated by the City, ownership of the plazas is a checkerboard of lots for former single family homes. The city may not have title for those lots to assemble into a contiguous developable lot.

The ownership may be in family trusts. Identifying the phantom lots and current owners, and litigating title / eminent domain could take years - and money.

Once again, this is why we need real city attorneys like Dan Siegel and Bill McCure (namely, Jorgensen, Siegel McClure and Flegel)- who both grew up in Menlo Park and have historical knowledge.
