Atherton: Burglar steals new TVs

Three new televisions still in their packaging were stolen from an unlocked guest house in the unit block of Selby Lane in Atherton sometime between Jan. 25 and 29, according to an Atherton police press release Jan. 30.

If I lived in Atherton, I would have two big attack dogs, and a burglar alarm that, when activated, would cause a loud siren to go off that could be heard for blocks away, and that would be programmed to repeatedly yell the word "BURGLARS" at a very high decibel level. That just seems like a no-brainer to me!!! Silent alarms are totally worthless!!!

Does anyone expect that the police department we are paying the majority of our town budget to would be doing more to prevent this crime wave from continuing, or am I the only one?
