I understand the desire for normalcy but we are a long way from normal, if it ever comes back. I am hoping that this does not prove to be the disaster that it likely is. The fall will not be kind to us, please go get your flu shot everyone.

With the protocols in place, I trust that these schools are as safe, given the circumstances, as any school in the country that has reopened. Still, is that safe enough? I'm glad my kids are past elementary school age. Our society is better equipped to handle distance learning than it ever has been before--can you imagine attempting this just 10 years ago? Neither option is ideal, and either of the options are untenable for some. Our teachers and administrations deserve praise and support for the thoughtful and measured way that they have approached reopening.
