Menlo Park city employee arrested

A Menlo Park public works employee was arrested Tuesday (July 23) on suspicion of stealing about $1,800 worth of fuel from city gas pumps during the last year and a half.

How do they know he was the thief? Do they have video or other evidence? Something is missing in this story.

To both the members above me: they have cards issued to them so they absolutely know when the employee is pumping gas. And to Steve C, he is a public employee- meaning out tax dollars pay his wages- so we have every right to know what's going on. Let this be a lesson to all public employees who think they can get away with stealing city property. Our tax dollars = our right to know
