Caltrain rail work on Wednesday

Original post made by Andrea Gemmet, Almanac staff writer, on Nov 27, 2006

Caltrain announced a rail maintenance project in Atherton this week. On Wednesday, Nov. 29, crews will unload rail from flat cars near Watkins Avenue in Atherton.  The work is expected to take approximately one hour.  The rail will be used for grade crossing improvements scheduled for later in the month.

"To avoid train delays the work will take place from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.  There will be construction noise from equipment used to accomplish the work, but crews will work as quietly as possible," says a Caltrain spokeswoman.
