Halloween glow necklaces for kids

Original post made by Andrea Gemmet, Almanac staff writer, on Oct 23, 2006

No wonder 97 percent of the population loves the Atherton Police Department.

Atherton's finest are once again handing out glow-in-the-dark necklaces for kids -- and their adult escorts -- to wear while trick-or-treating. Dark streets plus no sidewalks equals a real hazard on Halloween, so make sure traffic can see your little ghouls and goblins.

Necklaces are available at the counter of the Atherton Police Department, 91 Ashfield Road. Patrol officers will also have them on hand, so if all else fails, flag down a patrol car.

And have a safe Halloween!
