Holiday festivities at Rosewood

The Rosewood Sand Hill hotel in Menlo Park will usher in the season with the lighting of its 18-foot holiday tree during a two-hour event starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the library at 2825 Sand Hill Road. The event, which is free and open to the public, will include holiday cookie decorating, Dickens-era costumed carolers, hot cider and treats.

On Saturday, Dec. 1, Rosewood Sand Hill's executive pastry chef Mellisa Root will unveil a gingerbread village in the hotel library.

Children's holiday teas with Santa will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on three Saturdays: Dec. 1, 8 and 15. Santa will share holiday stories with the children as they gather around the Christmas tree. There will be cocoa and tea, tea sandwiches, cookies and sweets, and champagne for adults. Each child will take home a teddy bear. Cost is $50 per child plus tax and gratuity.

Visit or call 561-1500 to make reservations.
