The Tony Award-winning, politically savvy theater company San Francisco Mime Troupe will be offering two free performances of its latest original musical comedy, “Treasure Island,” at Cubberley Amphitheater (4000 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto) Wednesday, July 10, and Wednesday, Aug. 7 (with music starting at 6:30 p.m. and the play at 7 p.m.). Though the shows are free to attend, donations are accepted.

“Treasure Island,” loosely based on the classic Robert Louis Stevenson novel, tells the story of greedy developers (“pirates”) in San Francisco and one woman’s quest to discover their secret.

The troupe performs original musicals at parks and other outdoor spaces throughout the Bay Area each summer.

Look for a full feature and interview on the show in an upcoming issue of the Palo Alto Weekly.
