A northbound Caltrain fatally struck a person near Encinal Avenue in Menlo Park around 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, according to a news alert from Caltrain.

Emergency personnel were at the scene, and all trains in the area had stopped. Tracks in both directions were fully reopened shortly before 3 p.m., said Caltrain spokesman Dan Lieberman.

About 18 people were onboard northbound train 243, and nobody onboard was injured.

This is the second Caltrain fatality this year, according to the agency.

Terrible.

I understand this happened at Watkins, not Encinal.
