Bears come out of hibernation to beat Menlo in girls soccer

Katie Guenin and Josephine Cotto are tuned in with each other on the soccer field and that can only mean good things for the Menlo-Atherton girls soccer team, which finally put a victory on the board Friday, beating visiting Menlo School, 5-0, in a nonleague game.

"We're still getting to know each other," Guenin said. "We're still building."

The defending CCS Division I champion Bears (1-3-1) just completed a preseason that included three teams which participated in the CCS Open Division playoffs, a CCS Division I semifinalist and the defending CCS Division II champions.
