Woodside: Man who walked away from construction site has been found

Paul Lloyd Phillips, the 40-year-old construction worker who went missing from a Mountain Home Road construction site in Woodside on March 17, has been found "alive and well" in Salinas, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said Friday afternoon, March 21.

Earlier in the week, a team of searchers had used a grid technique and "highly specialized search equipment" to search an area he was thought to have entered after leaving the job site, Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt told the Almanac.

He was not found, and the searchers declared the area "clear."

When Mr. Phillips left the site, he said he needed to change his shoes, but never came back, Ms. Rosenblatt said.
