Have you taken advantage of eating out post pandemic? Thanks to all those still working hard to bring food to our tables. We’ve started Food Partying again at local haunts. Both of the gems below got lucky – they opened despite covid.
You might just drive past the Highland Noodles strip mall and not notice, but please don’t. Located in the City Square Center, Milpitas, Chef Paul Huang brings 20 + years of experience to the art of pulling noodles.
When you order (online from table QR codes) you can even choose your thickness of noodle.
Then watch with glee.

“More than 20 different ingredients make up one simple bowl of noodle, adding layers to soup,” says Chef. “Lanzhou hand pulled are the most famous noodle in China. Not only do Lanzhou-ians like them - all Chinese people do. Unlike machine-made noodles, hand pulled are in one piece. If you want to share, you’ll need scissors. (restaurant provided)

Aurum of Los Altos celebrates India’s diverse regional delicacies. Chef Manish Tyagi reinterprets the best of nostalgic traditional recipes, elevating classics into current tastes with new flavors and local California produce. This guy knows how to bring it to the table; he defeated Bobby Flay in “Beat Bobby Flay” after all. You can tell by his playful, delicious food, chef is having fun. See for yourself.
Jhalmuri started the show and taste. A crunchy munch street food favorite, smoke waffs out of a jar of puffed rice, mustard oil and red radish.
Mr. Potato also stopped by (a whimsical potato spiral chaat/chutney Indian snack with tamarind yellow peas and yoghurt). “Abstract nachos,” says chef Tyagi.

Mushroom Butter Chicken takes the most delicious dish ever - Butter Chicken - and covers it with homemade puff pastry
Eggplant Curry Crescent serves up aubergine that melts in your mouth and explodes with flavor
Spinach Paneer Lasagna melds cultures and cuisines into a special treat.
And for dessert - Tapioca Kheer with cardamom and saffron
and Chocolate Rasmalai with ricotta, dark chocolate and gold dust. Oh my!
