Silicon Valley, welcome to Database Valley

Uploaded: Mar 22, 2018
I was formulating a blog post about Menlo Park as company town when the NYTimes beat me to it (sort of).

But in the meantime, this insight: - Today, ‘Silicon Valley’ is an anachronistic misnomer. Today our region is more properly ‘Database Valley’- A transition that really started in the early ‘80s with the DB platform companies like Oracle, DB application companies like PeopleSoft, and Search Engines in the early 90's exploiting the Internet.
