UC Berkeley?s new freshman admission policy

Uploaded: Aug 12, 2015
(Written by Lori McCormick)

In April 2015, UC Berkeley adopted a new freshman admission policy.

Starting with students applying to Berkeley this fall, some applicants will be invited to submit two letters of recommendation. This will be optional and not required.

It is common for additional information to be requested to support a student's application. That campus will contact the student individually to retrieve the requested information. However, no other UC campus, except UC Berkeley, requires letters of recommendation at this time.
