As I hinted in my last post, my life has gotten busier than I could have possibly imagined. I've blogged weekly for The Palo Alto Weekly, The Mountain View Voice, and The Almanac for a year. When I began blogging, I made a commitment (to myself) to keep it up until I returned to work. Then I decided to stick it out for six months, and now here I am at a year. As time has passed, my kids have only become more active. My oldest wants to exercise her newfound independence and my younger two toddle about and are into everything. It's a wonder that I can get out of my house each morning!

Blogging has been a great creative outlet for me over the past year. It's been exciting to have a platform to connect with readers in my community and friends from afar. And I've learned some things about myself in the process: I like to come provocative. I'm interested in questioning conventions that don't make sense in today's world, whether they are throw-backs from what I consider bygone days or behaviors that have taken hold as technology plays a bigger role in our lives.

I'm going to take a break from posting for a little while as I try to carve out a more time for myself and my kids. I also need to give work my all as I push through to the end of the year. When I come back, I hope I'll have new material and experiences to share with my readers.
