Bookmark and Share
Members of the Woodside Vaulters club made a strong showing in two selection trials held by the U.S. Equestrian Federation April 28-29 in Somis, California, and May 5-6 in Santa Cruz.

Members of the Woodside club are vying for the chance to represent the U.S. at the Federation Equestre International (FEI) in Le Mans, France, in August.

The club is fielding two squads in the trials. The squad coached by Samantha Matson placed first overall in the Somis and Santa Cruz trials, performing a freestyle routine set to Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake." The squad includes Tessa Divita, Kalyn Geisler, Kathryn Jaggers, Siddartha Kreaden and Katherine Salisbury.

The second squad, coached by Kenny Geisler, placed third overall at the two selection trials. Squad members include Yvonne Greenen, Audrey Kiernan, Katrina Nibbi, Julia Plungy, and Janie Salisbury, with Kimmy Palmer substituting at the Santa Cruz competition.

Gabe Aniello took first place overall in men's individual competition at Somis and Santa Cruz, followed by Patrick Stevens who placed second at the two events. In women's individual competition, Katharine Wick placed second overall at Somis and third overall at Santa Cruz. Teammate Alicen Divita placed fifth and second overall at the two events respectively.

The final U.S. selection for the World Championships will take place May 25-26 at the Portola Valley Training Center, 100 Ansel Lane, in Portola Valley. Admission is free and open to the public.
