Filoli holds Mother's Day flower show

Bookmark and Share
Tom Rogers, Filoli's curator for 22 years before retiring in 2011, is the honorary chair for "The Secret Garden, discover the Magic," Filoli's 24th annual Mother's Day flower show beginning the evening of May 10 and continuing through May 13 at the historic Woodside estate.

More than 75 exhibitors will take part in the flower show. Designers will play upon "The Secret Garden" theme in their flower arrangements and table settings, says Filoli spokesman Christina Syrett.

Throughout the four-day event, there will be flower chats, flower arranging demonstrations, garden vignettes and live music.

Tom Rogers' contributions to Filoli will be celebrated at the opening night reception at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10. The reception will also provide guests a chance to stroll the gardens at twilight, view the floral arrangements, and meet the designers. The evening will include wine, hors d'oeuvres, and musical entertainment

Teas will be held at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12. Mother's Day champagne brunches will be held at 10:30 a.m., noon and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 13. Pre-ordered box lunches will be available for Saturday and Sunday.

General admission is $20 for adult members of Filoli, $25 for non-members and $10 for children ages 5 to 17. Pre-ordered box lunches are $20 for adults and $12 for children.

Visit filoli.org or call 364-8300, ext. 508, for prices and to make reservations for the varying events.
