Slocum running for county supervisor

Bookmark and Share
A familiar face in county political circles, Warren Slocum announced his intention to run for the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors with succinct style on March 5 — he tweeted the news.

The former county clerk-recorder-assessor and chief elections officer was first elected to public office in 1986 and served until January 2011.

Mr. Slocum brings the number of candidates for termed-out Supervisor Rose Jacobs Gibson's seat to eight. The district she represents includes Menlo Park, Redwood City, East Palo Alto and unincorporated North Fair Oaks and Oak Knoll.

This is GREAT news for San Mateo County. Warren brings so much to the table, including an understanding of exactly how our County operates. In my experience with him, he demonstrates not only an amazing capacity to work and build concensus with others and his quick and thorough responsiveness. And he is very well respected at various levels of government, including the State level where his very efficient and progressive handling of San Mateo County elections drew much positive attention and comment. Thank you, Warren, for making the sacrafice to run, and hopefully serve us, because we need you. I find it very easy to endorse a candidate like Warren Slocum
