Woodside Priory stages 'The Crucible'
Woodside Priory School in Portola Valley will stage Author Miller's "The Crucible" from Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 10-13, at Rothrock Performance Hall on the school campus.
Performances will be at 7 p.m. on three dates: Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 10-12, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13. The school is at 302 Portola Road in Portola Valley.
The play is set in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1692, when a young girl with a secret agenda, and her friends, accuse adults of witchcraft and are believed. As chaos grips the town, a small group races to try to stop the madness of the Salem Witch Trials before it spirals out of control into murder.
"This is a play with powerful language and themes as relevant today as when it first premiered," said John Sugden, chair of the Performing Arts Department at the Priory. "Due to some rough language and scary situations, it is recommended for audience 10 years and older."
Tickets are $5 for students and $12 for adults.
