Letter: Almanac has West Menlo preference
For as long as I've been reading the Almanac, I've felt that it has always reflected a "West Menlo" preference.
This attitude is clearly shown in the editorial, "District shift won't hurt Belle Haven." When the Almanac's rationale is that east Menlo has more in common with East Palo Alto and Redwood City, it could just as easily say that it has a lot in common with East Oakland.
I think that the districts are better represented by a diverse socioeconomic base. What the Almanac proposes is polarization and in this case promotes segregation.
