Second Harvest offers food assistance
Many families who rely on reduced-price school lunches to feed their children struggle to keep them well-fed during the summer months. Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties urges those in need to call its toll-free hotline for help.
By dialing 1-800-984-FOOD (3663), people can reach a live operator and receive information about summer feeding programs and other food assistance services in their neighborhood. Help is available Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
