Obituary: Muriel J. Roosman
Muriel Roosman, who lived in Menlo Park for many years, died April 21. She was 93 and had outlived her husband, Clarence Roosman, and all the members of her family.
A business woman and legal stenographer from 1944 to 1964, Ms. Roosman retained her accounting and record-keeping skills all of her life. Having learned the importance of being well turned out from her business years, she was an impeccable dresser and especially liked red shoes and clothing, say friends.
She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Scientist.
Ms. Roosman had a prodigious memory, friends say, recalling stories about friends, family, trips and events from her life at a moment's notice. She loved classical music, especially opera, and attended many performances of the San Francisco and West Bay Opera companies. She also enjoyed travel and took more than 100 trips to California sites, keeping records of each one of them.
An avid gardener, she was often seen outside tending to her roses, giving them what she called a "pat on the back."
Those wishing to honor Ms. Roosman's memory, may donate to a favorite charity in her name.
