Jack, are you going to open up the results page, in the interest of transparency? Or are you going to "report" the "results" of the interestingly phrased questions?

There have been 10 responses to date. The results appear to be genuine.
1. 6/4 AGAINST Sequoia Hospital Subsidy
2. 5/4 AGAINST Subsidized Nursing Program
3. 6/4 AGAINST Subsidy to local school districts.
4. 6/4 FOR Subsidy of Children's Health Initiative
5. 6/4 FOR Subsidy of SMC Medical Center.
6. 6/4 FOR Subsidy of non-profits
7. 6/4 AGAINST dissolution of the Sequoia Healthcare District
The Survey Monkey limits responses to 100 unless I upgrade. ($$$)
For the time being, I have added two questions based upon more information.
If the results are meaningful, I will upgrade ($204/year) to unlimited responses and provide you with other relevant, unbiased surveys. The upgrade will allow survey takers to view the results directly. Until then, I will update the current survey results here from time to time.
There have been 185 visits to this topic. I hope that we can get the response up to the 100 limit of this "free" survey.

There have been 165 hits on this topic since my last post. Only one visitor took the survey. That visitor was anti-dissolution, pro nurses, pro- CHI, pro non-profits, anti hospital subsidy, anti school district subsidy. I will leave the survey up for another week, and solicit responses from elected officials within the District by e-mail.

Jack,
Thanks for the survey. As I wrote on an earlier post prior to the election, I support the dissolving of the District. While there may be benefits, it has become a self-preserving bureaucratic entity using my and other people's tax dollars to support programs the Board deem worthy. That was not the original intent of the District.

Barney, in my prior post, I said:

As I mentioned before, that capability requires an upgrade from my "free" SurveyMonkey account. I will let this survey play out, and then provide a more functional version which will provide for visible results to surveytakers.
Your critical comments and suggestions are welcome.
One question I will add to the next survey will be:
Should the Sequoia Healthcare District cease collection of taxes on an annual basis until they obtain voter approval for their assumed philanthropic activities as recommended by the Grand Jury?

There have been well over 600 hits on this topic, and 29 survey takers. I will post an update this weekend. Hopefully responses will be close to the 100 limit of this trial survey. Currently there is overwhelming opposition to continued subsidy of Sequoia Hospital, and substantial opposition to subsidy of school districts.

Original questions with links to continuing discussion:
1. Should the Sequoia Healthcare District continue to subsidize Sequoia Hospital which is now owned by Dignity Health? Web Link
2. The Sequoia Healthcare District nursing program has produced 273 graduates in the first 8 years. Only 73 of them are employed as nurses in the District. Should the Sequoia Healthcare District continue its $1,000,000/year Nursing program subsidy? (Web Link)
3. Should nurses or their employers be required to pay back the $25,000/year subsidy?
4. Should the Sequoia Healthcare District provide a multi-million dollar annual subsidy to local school districts?
5. Should the Sequoia Healthcare District continue to provide a $1,350,000 annual subsidy to the county-run Children's Health Initiative? Web Link
6. If you knew that the Children's Health Initiative subsidized insurance for families earning up to 400% of the Federal Poverty Level, and also supported elective abortions, would you still support the $1,350,000 grant?
7. Should the Sequoia Healthcare District continue to provide multi-million dollar subsidies to the San Mateo County Medical Center?
8. Should the Sequoia Healthcare District continue to provide Millions of dollars in annual grants to charitable organizations (such as Planned Parenthood, Catholic Charities, St Anthony de Padua Dining Room, Samaritan House, 2nd Harvest Food Bank, etc.) each year?
9. Should the Sequoia Healthcare District be dissolved with its assets and share of property taxes distributed directly to schools, the county, cities, fire districts, etc.?
