Small school is lab for innovative learning
Schools & Kids, posted by Editor, The Almanac Online, on Nov 16, 2012 at 4:21 pm

The tiny school, tucked into a ramshackle former insurance office at the back of the Portola Valley Village Square shopping complex, doesn't look from the outside like a showcase for state-of-the-art 21st century education.

WOW, and how EXCITING to read about Creekside 21st Century Learning Lab in Portola Valley!

I've worked with parents and teachers for years on the importance of considering children's personality differences and learning styles, which to me are the keys to helping children not only realize their potential, but to feel excited about life and learning! Why there is so much resistance to this amazing environment for learning and loving to learn, I don't know. Mrs Barton is right, the age of industrialization as the one size fits all form of education is no longer valid for the world we're fast-forwarding into. That form of education prepares students for jobs that no longer exist and a mind set that isn't open to constantly learning, creating and innovating.

THREE PLUS cheers for everyone involved with this new school! May its concepts grow and expand and influence the world of education everywhere!

Way to GO!!! Blessings to ALL!
