Menlo Park Sister City Program

Menlo Park is indeed fortunatee to currently have several concerned citizens exploring the benefits of establishing a program open to everyone within the City. It's exciting to know that doors can open whereby we can "Think Globally, and Act Locally."
On Monday, March 25, 2013, a meeting will occur open to members of the city council, city staff, business community, school districts, local churches and concerned citizens to discuss what type of program might be appropriate in Menlo Park.
Other local cities have offered a Sister Cities program for many years, such as Palo Alto, Mountain View, San Jose to the south and Redwood City, Millbrae and San Francisco to the north. In fact, nearly 600 cities across the nation have established Sister City programs with another international community.
It's exciting that this opportunity may become a reality in Menlo Park. Thus far the concept has been well received. To their credit, the Menlo Park Historical Association is taking the lead with this program, following a visit by a citizen from Galway, Ireland last Fall.
