Menlo Park: El Camino traffic lights synchronized again

Good news at last: The traffic lights along El Camino Real in Menlo Park are back in sync as Caltrans finishes its final repairs to the signal system.

I am not noticing any difference yet, other than a long back up at the alma light in PA.

I generally avoid El Camino because it's so miserable. But last night at 9 pm -- with traffic pretty light -- decided to check out the newly synchronized lights on a trip back from Palo Alto. Shock and wonder: every single light turned red just before I arrived. I trip that should have taken about 90 seconds took five minutes. Plus ça change...

Boulder, Colorado has lights that will turn red for speeders or stay green for law-obeying drivers.

traffic is lighter in Boulder.
