S.M.C supervisors Don Horsley,Carole Groom and Adrienne Tissier yank supervisor Dave Pine's presentation on Whistleblower

It was just one week ago that Don Horsley informed us he was establishing the Independent Oversight Board for the new taxes. Now he won't even invest a couple of minutes to hear Dave Pine's presentation on Whistleblower Single Point Data base which is 10 years since the GJ recommendation. Don mentions "I don't think any of us (He must be talking about his Service League partners) were familiar with this AT ALL until this weekend....That's funny the Supervisors have had 10 years to make this happen. He also doesn't want to waste $80,000 yet the County just got an estimated $60,000,000 of sales tax income. Finally Don says " The process we have is effective and it works. Tell that to the Grand Jury.

Does this sound reminiscent of other councils? -- Atherton and Menlo Park had their coalitions and none of the other members mattered.

The Grand Jury recommended.

Independent County Auditor to run the Whistleblower program.

Supervisors Mike Nevin, Jerry Hill, Mark Church, Rose Jacobs Gibson rejected this recommendation, I'm not sure what Rich Gordon's position was he most likely supported this recommendation.
