Menlo Park: Large hole in Sand Hill Road repaired

The intersection of Sand Hill Road and Sharon Park Drive in Menlo Park was closed for several hours Tuesday as crews repaired a large hole that opened up during a construction mishap.

The report makes it sound like a mystery! There was a construction 'mishap' and the 'small hole' grew larger.

Seems likely that either someone was given incorrect instructions or they hit some sort of void under the roadway.

It would be nice to actually be told what made the 'small hole' grow to be 12 feet in diameter.

Maybe SLAC was testing an anti-matter beam! :-)

Traffic was snarled for hours with helicopters overhead and absolutely no explanation of what was happening
