Kudos are due to Facebook for simultaneously negotiating with Menlo Park, East Palo Alto and the Menlo Park Fire Protection District (which predates and serves Menlo Park, Atherton and East Palo Alto) on the impact of its planned expansion on each of these entities. Facebook has shown remarkable patience and understanding in this process.

The deal was accepted by Atherton via Facebook. It is all in the FB report. EPA accepted as well. The fire district as well, There is no law suit. Nothing that at all equates to your bluster.
POGO's love affair with Peter and a handful of his lemmings only serves to show the ignorance.
I did not make a claim. Peter did, and without fact. He is wrong. Again.
When I make an idiot claim against a city, I will at least have facts.

The fact is that each of the other entities had to cut their own deal with Facebook. Menlo Park never even called of meeting of all the impacted jurisdictions to discuss this matter. That is not what is expected of a Lead Agency.
Leadership is "organizing a group of people to achieve a common goal" but what Menlo Park did was to simply leave every else do their own thing.

Thank you, Peter, for correcting truth's incorrect info. I'm also relieved that my city has the leadership strong enough to have dealt w/this. It is also due to citizens like William Webster and his tireless efforts that EPA was able to take charge. I'm also relieved that Facebook has been top shelf as well. Menlo city gov't should be ashamed of itself, but of course, they're too self-absorbed, smug & obtuse to feel shame.

Untruth states"The deal was accepted by Atherton via Facebook." Opps, untruth forgot to tell Atherton - which still believes that it was totally left out of the process.
As noted in the original letter "One jurisdiction, Atherton, did not lose faith in Menlo Park to properly perform its legally obligated lead agency role, and, as a result, ended up with nothing. I suspect that Atherton may well now attempt to block this project in court, a sad, but totally preventable outcome."
Poor leadership does have its consequences since paragraph 30 of the Facebook agreement makes it clear that Facebook's obligations are conditioned on the absence of any legal challenges.
