1916 El Camino Real - Office Building

Original post made by Just Curious on Apr 23, 2012

Does anyone know the status of the 1916 El Camino Real - office building, located at the corner of Watkins Avenue? It seems like it has been vacant for several years.

It's one thing to have a row of vacant lots or perhaps former auto dealerships vacant and quite another to have a brand new, two story, commercial bulding, located at the "gateway" to the north end of our city VACANT for such a long time.

There used to be a FOR LEASE sign posted near the driveway facing El Camino Real. It is no longer there. Does that mean that it has been leased, or does it mean that it may have been taken off the market?

Hopefully someone will move in soon. It would be nice to have it full.

It's actually 1906 El Camino. It would appear that Liberty Asset Management now owns it.

From their web site: "LAMC is a private equity real estate investment venture specializing in certain real estate investments. Our strategic focus comprises the acquisition and exit disposition of: residential and commercial real estate owned (REO) assets; and non-performing and sub-performing notes/loans (NPN) assets."

I suspect this means the previous owners, Infinity Partners, lost it and it now belongs to this company. Why they don't seem to be actively trying to lease it, I don't know.
