Juventus Strikers 90 boys soccer team are US Club Regional Champions
Sports, posted by suzanne brownstein, a member of the Menlo-Atherton High School community, on Jun 26, 2007 at 10:20 pm

The Juventus Strikers 90 U16 Boys team won the US Club Soccer 2007 National Cup VI Region H championships in Modesto on June 19 after a weekend of hard fought matches, including a win in the semifinals which was won by penalty kicks in overtime. The boys have now earned a trip to the 2007 National Cup VI Finals next month in North Carolina where they will meet the winners of the 7 other regional championships held across the U.S.

The team is comprised of players from various ethnic and economic backgrounds.

Several of the boys attend Menlo Atherton High School, Woodside High School and Sequoia High School. All of the boys aspire to play Division I college soccer. Many of the boys will be the first in their family to attend college. Over 250 college coaches will be in attendance at the National Cup Finals.

The cost of the trip is beyond the means for many of the players and they have less than 4 weeks to raise funds to help subsidize the cost of this trip. In the past the boys have held raffles to raise funds, but there is little time organize a raffle. The Juventus Sport Club is based out of Redwood City and is a non profit organization. The team is looking for any size sponsorship to help defray the cost of this trip to North Carollina.

Email bethjimison@yahoo.com for donation/sponsor information.

The players are Adam Brownstein, Nicholas Carrara, Juan Espinoza, Leonel Gutierez, Brady Jimison, Cole Kelly, Josh Leandro, Kian Malek, Ignacio Martinez, Ulysis Milanes, Alfonso Molina, Cesar Molina, Jose Nava, Carlos Ramirez, Jesus Resendiz, Julian Soto, Christian Valdez, Neil Watters and Oscar Yniguez.

Coaches are Jaime Frias, Apolonio Perez and John Carrara.
