As a woman and mother of four grown daughters, i was frightened when i read the story of the young woman who stopped for what she thought was a police officer on atherton avenue. the story does not say whether it was daytime or night, but i assume there were no other people around. in my opinion, this young woman put herself at risk, stopping for an unmarked car on atherton avenue, which can be a very quiet road much of the time. i was relieved to hear that she only had her keys stolen, as she could have been assaulted, kidnapped or worse.

i wish police would give women more detailed guidelines on how to protect oneself in such a situation.
