Tom, Elias a columnist, noted for his left of center views, broke ranks with the radical left to expose the corruption of the California PUC which is hiding the true cost of renewable energy from the public.
The PUC approved a contract allowing PG&E to buy 617 Gigawatt hours of electricity from a company that has not even broke ground yet. Does that remind anyone of Solyndra?
The California PUC is disingenuously hiding the true costs under a rule designed to prevent electricity price manipulation which this is not.
With former utility executives getting overpaid jobs with the PUC we have a classic case of the fox watching the chicken coop as evidenced by PUC President Michael Peevey--the former president of Southern California Edison. He uses the tortured logic for justifying this renewable energy boondoggle that because one form of renewable energy is getting cheaper that it justifies forcing the public to spend their hard earned money on a more expensive form of renewable energy. Talk about bait and switch!
Only a socialist could endorse this type of twisted logic. For the Tom Elias Column please refer to this web site.
