Tapestries of fear

Original post made on Aug 23, 2011

Michealene Cristini Risley seems to be a typical Woodside mom — she has coached her three sons' soccer and basketball teams, works from home while juggling the boys activities and play dates, and she loves to garden, write and hang out with her investment banker husband and her best friends.

Sounds like a further demonstration that there are way too many shrinks in business in CA these days. Seemingly every kid has some diagnosis or other (e.g., ADD, autism, both), and practically every woman (and many men), can be found, upon sufficient dredging, to have been "abused" (which is conveniently never defined).

You read this story, shrinksrus, & all you can comment on is about therapists & diagnoses? That's pretty sad, given the richness, drama and breadth of issues suggested by, if not explored in, this story.

I am sorry that I missed viewing the film. I'd love to know if it'll be shown again, or if the public can purchase copies.
