So what do ya say San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services, If we promise to make ourselves appear larger and make noise, will you do the same rather than shoot our animal neighbors?

Not to criticize the Almanac's editing, but how did your headline writer determine that it was a second mountain lion and not just a second sighting of the same mountain lion? Something distinctive about the animal(s) that we're not being told? Just wondering.

Why is it news every time there is a mountain lion sighting in either Woodside or Portola Valley? Those communities border their habitat. It's like telling people in Alaska there has been a moose siting or people in Tahoe saying they saw a bear.
These residents should be accustomed to it by now and take appropriate action like the folks in Alaska and Tahoe -- stop hitting the panic button every time somebody sees a mountain lion.
