Atherton's contractor has an end date of March 7, but each rain day extends the contractor's time by one day, he said.
Once Menlo Park's work wraps up, probably sometime this summer, Atherton and Menlo Park have a joint project to place an asphalt overlay over the entire road, eliminating those lumpy seams that run down the center of Valparaiso.
The reason for the tag-team approach? The border between Atherton and Menlo Park runs right down the center of most of Valparaiso.
