Las Lomitas election: Voter registration closes Feb. 20
Schools & Kids, posted by News Guy, a resident of another community, on Feb 19, 2007 at 12:23 pm

Here is a Feb. 16, 2007, press release from the San Mateo County Elections Office:

San Mateo County's Chief Elections Officer, Warren Slocum, announced today that his office is expecting some last minute registration forms in the final days leading up to the February 20, 2007 deadline to register to vote in the Las Lomitas Elementary School District Election on March 6, 2007. "The deadline is extended until Tuesday, February 20th due to the Presidentīs Day Holiday," said Slocum.

According to Slocum, the Elections Office is receiving many forms which are from voters who are re-registering due to a change of address, change of name, or switch in party affiliation. "All citizens must be aware that they must keep their voter information current in order to receive the right election materials and ensure a smooth and easy visit to the polls on Election Day," said Slocum.

To be eligible to register to vote, a person must be: (1) a United States citizen; and (2) a California resident; and (3) at least 18 years of age on or before Election Day; and (4) not in prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony. A new registration is required if the registered voter has changed personal name or residence address since last registering, or wishes to change their political party affiliation.
