Schools & Kids, posted by Kim Sommer, a member of the Menlo-Atherton High School community, on Apr 17, 2010 at 1:37 pm

Menlo-Atherton High School’s third annual M-A on eBay ON-LINE auction goes live this Friday, April 23rd! Up for bid are over 100 fabulous vacation homes, parties, luxuries, gift certificates, sporting events and more, all donated by the enthusiastic M-A community. The entire event is on-line. There are no tickets to buy and no event to attend, so all proceeds of this “fun-raiser” benefit the students of our public high school. To view the catalog and start bidding, visit www.maauction.org. The auction runs through May 2nd. You can follow the action on Facebook…become a Friend of M-A Foundation for the Future for daily updates, hot items and great bargains. For more information, please contact Lynne Clarence at lhut@pacbell.net or Michele Culhane at michculhane@pacbell.net.

AUTHOR PO BRONSON COMING TO M-A PARENT ED SERIES ON APRIL 29th!

“NurtureShock: New Thinking About Children,” An Evening with NY Times Bestselling Author Po Bronson

Thursday, April 29th, 7-8:30 p.m.

Menlo-Atherton Performing Art Center (PAC) Cafeteria, 555 Middlefield Road, Atherton

Po Bronson brilliantly analyzes the current research on child-rearing and developmental psychology to bring new insight into modern parenting. NurtureShock provides a revolutionary new perspective on childhood that upends a library’s worth of conventional wisdom. Po ’s writing about children has been honored by the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Council on Contemporary Families.

Kepler’s Books will sponsor sales of NurtureShock; cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted. Plan to pick up a signed copy!

“NurtureShock is one of the most important books you will read this year. As a writer, I was impressed with the prodigious research and keen analysis.”

--Daniel H. Pink, author of A Whole New Mind

To RSVP, contact Charlene Margot, M-A Parent Education Series Chair, at parenteducation@mabearspta.org or call 650.868.0590.
