Woodside's Town Council voted 6-1 Tuesday night for a resolution that approves a contract between Apple co-founder Steve Jobs and a venture capitalist with the aim of resolving a longtime dispute over an 85-year-old mansion in town known as the Jackling house.

My comments about the stupidity of this entire fiasco are all removed now that people have to face the truth that their intentions are all basically an ego trip and have nothing to do with historical preservation. Noveau riche.Do something useful for the people who need it in your community with the money spent on attornies.

I think Jobs is a very classy guy to have maintained his dignity and made a lot more money which is the only thing which separates you in terms of "class".

R.GORDON, Your comments weren't removed. You posted them on other threads. The last one I can see with a quick search was one generated by the Almanac's recent editorial on the topic.

I must say, you are very fair and even up to the point where you do not get all rattled if some senior prefers to write in all caps which makes most people completely lose it.

Also, if I may call you Renee, you know how to drag this incredible story almost to a "humor column" for all it's worth. You ought to think of adding that to your format.

I got lost writing a first draft using the location of the house into a WWII caper movie where everyone was going after the other's throats in search of gold in the faucets and plumbing (2nd draft)

Thank you for your humor and patience...or patience,at least.
