Menlo Park cop caught with prostitute keeps job

Original post made on Jan 17, 2013

Hearing a knock at the Motel 6 door, a prostitute wearing a black catsuit answered, $20 bills stashed in her cleavage. In the bathroom, Sunnyvale police officers found a veteran Menlo Park police detective wearing nothing. End of his career? Nope.

It seems to me that the leak was not accidental. The two city managers had no business discussing "confidential personnel matters" in a bar....with in ear shot of a newspaper reporter!! One of the first lessons I learned as a member of MPPD was never to talk about anything around a reporter.

A case could be made that this was an attempt at payback for the decision concerning Officer Vasquez reinstatement with full back pay

Maybe Officer Vasquez has a law suit here. If he should decide to sue the city I would like to point out, so far, the score is Jeff Vazquez 2 City of MP 0!

The current City manager should be disciplined for his lack of judgement...maybe even fired

Common on now ha ha When did we start getting critical of these type of incidents. President Clinton lied under oath about having sex with Monica Lewinski, but we gave him a pass. I bet most of the people who have commented here forgave the president. I'm not saying what the cop did or what the President did is okay Im just saying...

Apparently seeing a prostitute while on duty doesn't qualify. Christopher Dorner, ex-Los Angeles cop who is currently on a killing rampage down there got fired for complaining a fellow officer used excessive force, though.
