Su Hong regulars, don't despair. Bee King, owner of the venerable Chinese restaurant at 1039 El Camino Real in Menlo Park, says the restaurant will reopen when she is able to assemble a competent staff.

The potential workers must have seen the articles about the stand-still traffic on ECR and decided they didn't need the additional hour of travel time after reaching the borders of Menlo Park.

I work in Menlo Park and commute from Santa Clara. A number of my co-workers commute from San Francisco. But, we don't read "help-wanted ads in Chinese-American newspapers". Maybe she could reach out to other demographics for potential employees.

It would be great to have them back - but perhaps if they want a successful business model the quality of the food needs to improve. We bought take out for Saturday dinner and it was horrible - not even edible. Never again!

I always found the food at Su Hong's very good. To my2bits any other suggestions other than the chain PF Changs? The choices are becoming fewer in the area.

Phil's Treasure pot does a really nice job, we've been going there instead of Su Hong for the last two years. Such a nice guy and great service - food is always great.
