Maintain momentum in Menlo Park
Menlo Park Elections, posted by Frank Tucker, a resident of the Menlo Park: Central Menlo Park neighborhood, on Oct 18, 2006 at 6:00 pm

Voters in this fall's City Council election can choose between two slates of candidates, representing two very different visions of the future.

One slate, Vince Bressler, Rich Cline and Heyward Robinson, claim that they are not allied with each other, but as reported in the Almanac on Aug. 16, they are in fact the anointed candidates of the vocal "residentialist" faction in town.

You only have to read their campaign hit pieces and Web sites to realize that their entire campaign is based on their dislike of the incumbent candidates, and that they present only vague ideas of how they would do a better job of leading the city.

At a recent candidate forum, I was astounded at how insubstantial their responses were to citizens' questions about their plans.

Alternatively, we can re-elect council members Lee Duboc and Mickie Winkler and elect Transportation Commissioner John Boyle to the council, and maintain the positive momentum that the city has achieved over the last four years.

They have specific and well-articulated plans for the city's economic future, revitalization of our downtown and commercial areas, maintenance of the city's infrastructure and provision of long-delayed sports fields for our youth. Go to their Web site, at www.mp4wrd.com, and you will find details on these projects including real numbers, not the vague and inflammatory hyperbole of their opponents.

Vote for Boyle, Duboc and Winkler to maintain Menlo Park's forward progress.
