Council questioned on litigant's appointment to Housing Commission

Original post made by Renee Batti on Feb 7, 2007

The following letter by Pat White was published in the Almanac's Feb. 7 print edition:

Editor:
The city of Menlo Park named Don Brawner "housing commissioner." The same Don Brawner (who) is suing the city to stop a housing project. Shouldn't he be the "non-housing commissioner"? Certainly the mayor and the majority council have forgotten their pledge promising less divisive government.

I was the other candidate for the position on the Housing Commission and I wanted you to know our mayor voted for me but I lost 2-3.
